Zombie Dice

You are the zombie. The dice are the people running away.

Thirteen dice in a cup, each one a victim with brains on some faces, shotgun blasts on others and footprints on the rest. Grab three, roll them, bank the brains, and decide whether to keep going. Three shotguns and your turn is over with nothing. That is the entire game and it has outlasted a decade of more complicated things.
