Tokaido Duo

Two travellers, one small island, three journeys at once.

Tokaido Duo takes the series onto Shikoku, the smallest of Japan's four main islands, and rebuilds it for exactly two players. You move between three roles as you travel: the pilgrim visiting shrines, forests, seashores and hot springs; the trader crafting and selling souvenirs; the artist painting the view and giving the paintings away.

Each role scores differently, and the pull between them is the whole game. Twenty to thirty minutes, and it looks as good on the table as every other Tokaido box.

Standalone — you do not need the original.
