Ticket to Ride: New York
1960s Manhattan, yellow cabs, and fifteen minutes to see more of it than any actual taxi would manage.
The first of the Ticket to Ride City series and still the tightest. You are running taxis around Manhattan rather than trains across a continent, connecting Times Square, Central Park, Broadway and the rest, and scoring the tourist spots you visit along the way.
Everything that makes the big game good is here, compressed: the same claim-a-route tension, the same quiet agony of watching somebody take the connection you needed. The difference is that the board is small enough that it happens immediately and constantly. One game takes fifteen minutes, which mostly means you will play several.
Perfect for: A lunch break, or a first game with someone who has never played anything like it.
