The Crooked Moon: Folk Horror Roleplaying
Six hundred and thirty-two pages of things that live at the edge of the village.
Folk horror is the quiet branch of the genre - no monsters from elsewhere, just the people who were already here and what they have agreed to do every year at harvest. Avantris Entertainment's first published book takes that and builds it into 5E properly rather than bolting on a mood: fifteen subclasses drawn from the genre, thirteen reborn species with names like Harvestborn, and a Sinner Rogue who is exactly what he sounds like.
It is a tome rather than a supplement, and the weight of it is the point - this is a setting you run a campaign in, not a one-shot you drop into an existing game. Player options sit alongside GM tools built from actual folklore, horror cinema and the kind of Halloween imagery that was frightening before it was decorative. Compatible with fifth edition.
Perfect for: The GM whose group has done enough dungeons and would like to be unsettled instead.
