Tea Witches

The Teaquinox Faire is on, and the witches are queuing.

You are not a witch. You are a tea vendor, and the witches are the customers — which is the part the box art does not entirely prepare you for. Across four days of the Teaquinox Faire you summon witches to your hut, serve them what they came for, and try to convert them into a loyal following before the vendor at the next stall does it first. Manny Vega designed it for The Op. The artwork is warm; the competition is not.

Each day runs in two phases. In the summoning phase everyone simultaneously draws a crowd of witches, and this is a push-your-luck problem — draw a duplicate and you cause a hex, which sends witches back out of your queue. In the service phase you send TeaPups off to the Bootiques for toppings, work through the line you have built, and upgrade the hut so you can serve more of it. Despite the cosy coat of paint it sits at 3.13 on BoardGameGeek, which is well above family-filler territory.

Perfect for: Anyone who has worked hospitality and, on some level, still misses the rush.
