Metal Earth: Star Wars Millennium Falcon

The most famous silhouette in science fiction, and it is basically a disc with a bite taken out.

The Falcon was redesigned late and in a hurry after the original long, thin design looked too much like a ship in another series, and the replacement was reportedly inspired by a hamburger with an olive beside it. Whatever the origin, the asymmetry is the trick: the offset cockpit tube stops it reading as a flying saucer and gives the whole thing a sense of direction.

All that surface detail is what makes this a good sheet-steel subject, because the etched panelling on the upper and lower hulls comes out crisp in a way paint never manages. Laser-cut stainless steel, tab-and-slot assembly, no glue or paint. The mandibles and the cockpit tube need care to align. Tweezers recommended. Bare steel finish on a stand.
