Magic: The Gathering – Spider-Man Play Booster Pack
Built on the comics, and it shows in who turns up.
Peter Parker and the wider set of Spider-Heroes, opposite the rogues' gallery that has been chasing them since the sixties — Eddie Brock as Venom, Norman Osborn as the Green Goblin, Doctor Octopus, Carnage, Kraven, with Gwen Stacy as Ghost-Spider. A Universes Beyond set, so it is not set on a Magic plane; the characters come across as Magic cards rather than the reverse.
Released 26 September 2025 and still Standard legal. Web-slinging is an alternative cost — pay less if you also return a tapped creature you control to your hand, which reads exactly like swinging away from something. Mayhem lets you cast a card from your graveyard for a cost if you discarded it that turn. Connive and modified both return, and the set came with a rules change allowing modal double-faced cards to transform where the back face is a permanent.
The treatments here are unusually good: web-slinger cards, panel cards laid out like comic pages, scene cards whose art tiles together, and borderless source-material cards using genuine comic artwork, which turn up in roughly one Play Booster in twenty-four.
Each pack holds 14 cards — 6 or 7 commons, 3 uncommons, a wildcard, at least one rare or mythic rare, one traditional foil and a land — plus a double-sided token.
Please note: this is a single sealed booster. Contents are random and no specific card is guaranteed.
Perfect for: the reader who can date a Spider-Man story to within about three years from the shape of the panel borders alone.
