You have the number 74. Now describe it as a breakfast food.
A Japanese party game that sold over 300,000 copies at home before Arcane Wonders brought it out in English. Everyone draws a secret number between 1 and 100. A theme is chosen — how scary something is, how much you want to eat it, how useful it would be in a fight — and each player has to describe their number as a thing that fits that theme, without ever saying the number. Then the table lays the cards down in what it hopes is ascending order.
It is co-operative, so you either all get it right or you all watch someone reveal a 9 after arguing for twenty minutes that their answer was clearly a high one. The whole game is the conversation, and it scales to ten without falling apart, which very few things do. Rounds are short enough that a bad one does not matter and a good one gets replayed immediately.
Perfect for: the group that says it does not like party games, which usually means it does not like being made to perform. Nobody performs here, they just argue about whether a golden retriever is a 60 or an 85.
2–10 players | 10–15 minutes | Age 8+
