Imperial Miners
Dig down. Keep digging. The good stuff is never near the surface.
A tableau-building game from Portal about sinking a mine shaft one card at a time. Every card you play goes underneath the ones already down, and placing it triggers the abilities of everything above it - so the mine you have already built fires again every single turn, and the order you built it in is the entire game.
That cascading trigger is the clever bit, and it produces the best feeling in this kind of design: a late turn that sets off a chain reaction through twelve cards you placed twenty minutes ago. It is quick for the amount of engine in it, and there is a solo mode in the box.
Please note: in ahead of full details. Player count, playing time and age rating will be confirmed from the box when it is unpacked.
Perfect for: Anyone who plays engine-builders for the one turn at the end where everything goes off at once.
