Motorcycles are almost entirely frame and engine, which is exactly the wrong thing to build out of flat sheets, and exactly why it is worth doing.

The Ninja name has been on Kawasaki sports bikes since 1984 and has covered everything from learner machines to the supercharged H2. What they share is the look: minimal bodywork, everything mechanical left visible, and a riding position that assumes you are not going far in comfort. There is nowhere on a sports bike to hide a construction shortcut, which makes it an honest test of a kit.

Expect to spend time on the frame, the forks and the spoke detail. The wheels alone are more work than an entire small Metal Earth kit. ICONX premium sheets, laser-cut stainless steel, tab-and-slot assembly, no glue or paint. Tweezers and needle-nose pliers essential. Bare steel finish on a stand.
