Penguins, fish, and the slow horror of watching your escape routes melt away.

Your penguins slide across a board of ice floes, collecting fish as they go. Every tile you leave behind is removed from the board — so the ice shrinks with every turn, and the trick is stranding everyone else before you strand yourself. There's no dice, no cards, no hidden information: just a shrinking board and the growing realisation that your best-laid plan has a flaw.

An abstract classic: two minutes of rules, no luck to hide behind, and a mean streak that reveals itself about four turns in.
