Formaggio
Cheese does not age any faster because you are in a hurry.
Early twentieth-century Italy, and you are an artisanal cheesemaker trying to become the most prestigious in the country — making it, ageing it, selling it, and running a creamery capable of keeping up with all three. Ben Rosset designed it for Road To Infamy.
It is simultaneous worker placement, so nobody sits waiting. You place your workers on the quadrant of the board facing you, and once everybody has placed, the board rotates: any cheese you made ages, and an entirely new quadrant swings round in front of you. Planning therefore has to account for a board that will not be where you left it, and for ageing being something the game does to you rather than something you spend a turn on.
Please note: Formaggio is a standalone expansion for Fromage. It plays perfectly well on its own, and if you own both you can combine any four board quadrants and draft any mix of structure tiles.
Perfect for: People who understand that some things are improved by being left alone in the dark.
