Forest Shuffle
You are building a wood. Not a kingdom, not an empire — a wood.
Forest Shuffle is a card game about a Central European forest and the things that live in it. Trees go down as the structure, and everything else — badgers, woodpeckers, mushrooms, butterflies — tucks into the edges of those trees, left side or right, each with its own scoring condition. The artwork is quiet and naturalistic, and the whole thing is a single deck of cards with no board at all.
The tension sits in one rule: To play cards, you must pay with cards from your hand! You never have enough of either. The clearing in the middle fills up with cards other players have used to pay for cards, giving you more options when drawing new cards. Nominated for the Kennerspiel des Jahres, and one of the better mid-weight games of recent years.
Perfect for: Anyone who liked Wingspan but wished it were tighter and took up less table.
2–5 players | 40–60 minutes | Age 10+
