Second and third-level spells from the 2024 rules, 129 cards in all — the largest of the three spell decks, which tells you something about where the complexity lives. This is the band where concentration starts mattering, areas of effect start overlapping, and the difference between a spell working and not working is usually a sentence somebody skimmed.

Having the text on a card in front of the caster changes the rhythm of a session more than it sounds like it should. No passing the book, no scrolling, no three-minute halt while the table relitigates how Counterspell works. The cards are reference, not replacement — you still need the rulebook, you just stop reaching for it every turn.
