DC Comics Deck-Building Game: Party Starter Edition

Superman is in here, and he is not quite as good as you think he is.

Cryptozoic's deck-builder, in which you take one of the Justice League — Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, the Flash, Green Lantern or Cyborg — and assemble a deck out of the DC universe to knock over as many Super-Villains as you can manage. You begin with basic punching and work upward; whoever has accumulated the most Victory Points at the end takes it.

This is the Party/Starter Edition, which does the sensible thing of working as a standalone game for two to five players and as an expansion for anyone already invested in the range. Thirty to forty-five minutes, and the deck-building is the familiar sort — buy well, thin ruthlessly, and try not to be seduced by the expensive card that does very little.

Perfect for: Anyone who has explained Dominion to a reluctant relative and wished, halfway through, that the cards had Batman on them.
