Azul: Stained Glass of Sintra

Same beautiful tiles. Entirely different problem.

The second Azul, and the one people forget exists, which is a shame because it is the most elegant of the lot. Instead of filling a grid you are glazing a row of eight windows, and your glazier pawn moves left to right along them and never goes back until the row is finished.

That one-way movement is the whole game. Placing a pane in window six means windows one to five are gone for the rest of the round, so every satisfying placement quietly destroys options you were saving. Michael Kiesling designed it and it is sharper and meaner than the original while looking, if anything, better on the table.

Perfect for: People who liked Azul and would now like to be punished for their optimism.
