A Game of Thrones: A Clash of Kings Expansion
Six houses now. The table gets no larger.
The first expansion to the original A Game of Thrones board game, and the headline is House Martell — which means a sixth player, new cards and tokens, and a large overlay for the board. Christian T. Petersen designed it, as he did the base game.
Martell is not all of it. The box also carries an alternative, higher-powered set of House Cards for all six houses, so combat swings harder than it used to; rules and components for managing the ports of Westeros; wooden Siege Engine tokens, which are powerful and conspicuously vulnerable; Fortification tokens; and special order tokens for every house. It does not smooth the base game out. It widens it, and then hands everybody a bigger stick.
Requires A Game of Thrones: The Board Game to play.
Perfect for: Groups of five who have been told, repeatedly, that there is no room for a sixth.
Expansion | 3–6 players | 120–180 minutes | Age 12+
