Plan a ten-day trip across America where every leg has to actually connect.

You hold ten tiles in a rack — states, and the planes, trains and cars that get you between them. The goal is a sequence where each day leads legitimately to the next: walk between neighbouring states, drive along a matching-colour route, fly if you hold the right aeroplane.

Swap tiles in and out as you go, and try to finish your itinerary before anyone else finishes theirs. It teaches American geography without ever announcing that it is doing so, which is why it has stayed in print for two decades.
