Worms: The Board Game

The Holy Hand Grenade made it into the box.

Mantic's adaptation of the Team17 video game, and a faithful one — miniature worms on a modular battlefield, throwing bazookas, dynamite and considerably worse at each other until only one team is standing. The terrain gets destroyed as you play, so the ground you were standing on may not be there next turn.

Two to four players, forty to sixty minutes, ages ten and up. The rules are light; the arguments are not.

Perfect for: Anyone who lost whole afternoons to the original, and their children.
