Six brightly coloured wooden blocks strung on a sturdy elastic cord, each able to twist and turn independently. Fold it into a cube, stretch it into a snake, tangle it into something that has no name. There is no goal, no solution and no way to get it wrong, which is precisely why it works as a fidget rather than a puzzle. It folds down to roughly 6 by 4 by 4 centimetres, so it lives in a pocket or on a desk.

The appeal is the noise and the feel as much as the shapes: solid timber blocks clicking against each other, with enough resistance in the cord that it holds whatever position you leave it in. Attach a few together and the shapes get considerably more ambitious. Age 3 and up, though the honest market for these is adults on phone calls.
