A worker placement game about psychoanalysis, which sounds like a parody and is in fact one of the best-looking games of the last few years.

Vienna, the turn of the twentieth century, and you are a psychoanalyst working in Freud's orbit. Patients arrive with dreams; you interpret them, treat the patient, and build your own theory of the mind while doing it. The art by Weberson Santiago is the reason most people pick the box up, and it deserves the attention.

Mechanically it is a proper heavy euro: multiple interlocking currencies, a dream-interpretation puzzle that feeds your engine, and the usual sensation of having four excellent options and time for one. Sixty to a hundred and twenty minutes, and it includes a solo mode that is genuinely good rather than an afterthought. Not a first euro, but a very good third or fourth.

Perfect for: Somebody who has played Wingspan and Everdell and asked what comes next.
