Triplock
Two people picking the same lock from opposite sides, quietly, at speed.
Triplock is a race to crack a lock before the other person does. You are working out a hidden combination through deduction and careful use of your tools, and the tension comes from knowing your opponent is doing exactly the same thing and might be one step ahead. Chip Theory build it the way they build everything — neoprene mats, poker chips with a weight to them, components that make a small satisfying noise. It is a boutique production and it feels like one.
The design rewards patience and punishes the guess you take because you are impatient. Information accumulates slowly, and there is a real decision every turn about whether to spend a tool now or hold it. It plays in about half an hour at two, and the solo mode is built in rather than bolted on, which is Chip Theory's habit.
Perfect for: Couples who want something short, quiet and mildly competitive on a weeknight.
