Ticket to Ride Legacy: Legends of the West
Twelve games of Ticket to Ride that remember what you did in the previous eleven.
Rob Daviau invented the legacy format, Alan R. Moon designed Ticket to Ride, and Matt Leacock is the third name on the box. Between them they have taken the most-sold gateway game in the hobby and given it a campaign: you start on the East Coast with a small map and a small company, and across twelve sessions you work west, sticking things to the board, opening sealed envelopes and permanently changing how your copy plays.
If you have played Ticket to Ride you already know the base rules, which is exactly why it works as a legacy game — the campaign can spend its energy on surprises rather than teaching. Sessions run 20 to 90 minutes and get longer as the map fills. Keep the same group if you can; the whole thing is built on continuity, and a substitute in game seven notices.
Perfect for: a group that has played Ticket to Ride a hundred times and would like it to finally go somewhere.
2–5 players | 20–90 minutes per game | Age 10+ | 12-game campaign
