Ticket to Ride Germany
The same trains, with passengers who have opinions about where they sit.
A standalone Ticket to Ride across Germany, and the one longtime players tend to name when asked which version they'd keep. Everything familiar is intact — collect cards, claim routes, say nothing about your destination tickets — but there are now meeples standing in the cities.
As you claim a route you take a passenger from one of the cities at either end. At the end of the game, whoever holds the most of each colour scores heavily for it. Suddenly where you build matters as much as what you complete, and a short route through the right city can be worth more than a long one through nowhere. It's a small addition that reshapes the whole map, and it doesn't cost a minute of extra teaching time.
Perfect for: Households that already own a Ticket to Ride and have started to feel they've solved it — and mixed tables where one player has played fifty games and another has played none.
