The Fox in the Forest Duet

A trick-taking game where you're both on the same side.

Most trick-taking games are about beating the other person. Duet flips it — you and your partner move a shared pawn through the forest by winning tricks, and you have to win exactly the right ones. Take too many and you overshoot.

You can't discuss your hand, so the whole game is signalling through the cards you choose to play. Twenty-five minutes, strictly two players, and much harder than it looks.

Perfect for: couples, trick-taking regulars, and long train journeys with someone you don't need to talk to.
