Selfish: Shipwrecked Edition

The raft is over there. So are the sharks, and so is everybody else.

Same premise as the Space Edition, relocated to open water and made rather nastier. You are swimming for a raft through waves, sharks, poisonous pufferfish and one octopus of genuinely unreasonable size. Energy is the resource and it runs down whether you are helping yourself or hindering somebody else. First to the raft wins and nobody else does.

This one is a deck-builder rather than a straight hand-management game, which is the real difference between the two editions: you are shaping what you draw over the course of the twenty minutes rather than playing the hand you were dealt. That makes it the better of the two for players who already own a few games, and the 12+ age rating is honest - there is more to hold in your head here than in the Space Edition. One hundred and thirty-one cards, printed on FSC stock with soy inks.

Perfect for: Anyone who has watched a disaster film and quietly decided they would be fine.
