Scythe
1920s Europa, giant mechs, and the most beautiful board on your shelf.
Scythe is an alternate-history epic of engine building, area control and quiet menace: develop your faction's economy, deploy towering mechs, and expand across a war-scarred continent where combat is rare, tense and decisive. Every faction plays differently — different starting position, different special power, different path to victory — so no two games open the same way.
Resources feed everything: more workers means more production, more production means more options, and more options means someone else on the board is starting to worry about you. Combat exists, but it's a last resort, not the point — most games are won on economy and territory, not violence.
Jakub Rozalski's artwork alone sells copies. The game underneath, designed by Jamey Stegmaier, is a modern heavyweight classic.
