Mount Fuji Cherry Blossom View 1000 Piece Puzzle

Fuji-san and cherry blossom are the two images Japan exports more than any others, and putting them together is shameless in a way that works. The mountain is a near-symmetrical stratovolcano that has not erupted since 1707; the blossom lasts about a week and the entire country reorganises itself around it. As a subject it gives you a strong silhouette to build against and then a great deal of pink to negotiate.

That pink is the actual challenge. Blossom passages are dense, low-contrast and repetitive, and they are where a 1000 piece puzzle stops being an afternoon.
