Meadow Hill Lane No 2 1000 Piece Puzzle
A country lane in high summer, which is a thousand shades of green and should be read as a warning.
The second in Ravensburger's Meadow Hill Lane series, and firmly in the tradition of the English country scene that puzzle makers have been returning to for a century, because it never stops selling and it never stops being pleasant to look at. Lanes, hedgerows, cottages and the general impression that nothing urgent has happened here since about 1953.
The catch, and it is a real one, is that pastoral scenes are largely foliage, and foliage is where colour sorting stops helping you. This is a puzzle where you build the structures first, then spend a considerable while on hedge. Ravensburger cut every piece individually, which is what makes that phase possible at all, since shape becomes your main tool once colour has given up. Softclick fit holds sections together when you move them, and the finished puzzle is 70 by 50 centimetres.
Perfect for: The puzzler who says they want something relaxing and then complains that it was too easy.
