A rope loop, a handful of heavy magnetic stones, and a table. That is the entire game. Kluster Duo is the two-player cut of the magnet game that has been quietly emptying gift shop shelves for years, and it works because the physics does all the design work. The stones are dense, cold, satisfying things — this is a game you fidget with as much as play.

You split the stones and take turns placing them inside the rope. Place cleanly and you are one stone closer to being rid of them all. Place badly and the magnets find each other with an audible clack, and every stone that clustered comes straight back to you. The cruelty is that the table gets more dangerous with every successful placement, so a winning position is also the most precarious one you have held all game. Fifteen to twenty minutes, and nobody has ever played it once.
