How Dead Are They?
You have googled this. Everyone has googled this.
The whole game is the question you have quietly typed into a phone at a party and then closed the tab on: is that person still alive? Three hundred and fifty double-sided cards of notable people, and a table full of adults discovering that their confident answer is out by about fifteen years in either direction.
It runs on pure recall and there is no strategy to speak of, which is the correct design for this. What makes it work is the arguing - somebody is always certain, somebody is always wrong, and the reveal on the back of the card settles it immediately with no room for negotiation. Two or more players, and it scales up well because everybody has an opinion. Grim in principle, very funny in practice.
Perfect for: Anyone who has ever said the words 'no, he died' with total confidence and been completely wrong.
2 or more players | 350 double-sided cards
