Happy Little Dinosaurs is a card game about avoiding disaster while a meteor situation develops in the background, and the joke is that the disasters are things like natural selection, emotional damage and being ghosted. You pick a dinosaur, you move around the track, and you play point cards to escape whatever the deck throws at you. It comes from the Unstable Unicorns people, so the tone is exactly what you would expect.

Play is light and mean in roughly equal measure. Disaster cards hit everyone, but the point cards you use to dodge them are the same ones you would otherwise want to keep, so surviving costs you the lead. Around half an hour, straightforward enough to teach in a pub, and the artwork does a lot of work in getting people to pick it up in the first place.

Perfect for: Anyone who has described their week as a series of unfortunate events and meant it.
