Ark Nova: Marine Worlds

The zoo game gets an aquarium, and with it a great deal more to think about.

Ark Nova is already one of the heaviest things most people own, and Marine Worlds does not lighten it. The expansion introduces sea animals and the aquariums to house them, which means a new enclosure type, new card pool, and a set of scoring routes that did not previously exist. Everything in the base game still works; there is simply more of it.

The design question it answers is what to do with a board you have solved. If your group has played Ark Nova enough that the strong opening cards are common knowledge, Marine Worlds changes which ones those are. Ninety minutes to two and a half hours with the expansion in, and it assumes you already know the base rules cold.
