Push six marbles off a board. It takes two minutes to learn and considerably longer to stop losing.

A genuine modern classic - designed in 1987, sold in the millions, and still the cleanest abstract on the shelf. Fourteen marbles each on a hexagonal board. You may move one, two or three of your own in a line, and if you have more marbles pushing than your opponent has resisting, theirs move. Push six off the edge and you win.

That is the entire rulebook, and out of it comes a game about mass and formation: a loose line of marbles is weak and a tight block is slow. Good players spend the opening doing almost nothing visible, consolidating, and the whole thing turns on a single move where someone's structure finally gives. No text, no language barrier, nothing to set up.
