Westeros before anyone had seen the television series. Sealed, and it has been a very long time.

Christian T. Petersen and Kevin Wilson's 2003 original: take one of the great houses of Westeros and fight for the Iron Throne through warfare, diplomacy and the sort of treachery that ends friendships. Orders are given face down across your territories and revealed simultaneously, so every turn is a bet on what the person opposite you has just written down.

It won the Origins Award for Best Traditional Board Game of 2003 and effectively defined the modern area-control game. Support is the mechanism that does the real damage — battles are decided by whose neighbours turn up, and neighbours are not reliable. Fantasy Flight replaced it with a reworked second edition in 2011, so the original has not been printed in well over a decade. Runs to about three hours.
